WW1 Battlefields and Memorial Sites

On the 1st June, 31 Year 9 pupils embarked on a journey across the English Channel for a four day visit to France and Belgium. While on the continent pupils had the opportunity to visit several WW1 battlefields and memorial sites. One particular highlight of the trip took place at the Menin Gate where the pupils of St Gabriel’s took part in the Last Post Ceremony and laid a wreath to commemorate the sacrifice of those who gave their today for our tomorrow. The pupils were a credit to the school, the community of Bury and the country.
